Reception

Please note that the physical reception is mostly closed at the low season or when occupancy in the hotel is low. Digital reception by Whatsapp or e-mail is open 24/7.

For check-in when the reception will be closed, we will send you check-in instructions with a PIN code to be able to check in. We will provide you with this information a day before or on the day of your arrival. Kindly keep an eye on your inbox or Whatsapp if needed.

FAQ And House Rules

  • Check-in
    Please let us know what time you would like to check-in. If you do not let us know in advance, we cannot guarantee your check-in outside official hours.
  • Check-out
    Checking out is possible until 11:00AM. Late check-out is possible at a surcharge. Inform the hotel about your wishes. Not informing the hotel may result in a fee + cost of the current room rate of the day.
  • Early Check-out
    If the reception is not available and you have settled all your bills, you can use the white “Check-Out Box” at the entrance/exit of the property to deposit your key cards. Not depositing the key card at check-out will result in payment of no less than €15 per key card. Extra bills (damages, unpaid consumptions,..) will all be charged with extra administration costs and details will be send by e-mail, post and/or phone texts via our debt collection agency.
  • Elevator
    An elevator is available at the property. For your safety, please read the instructions in the lift carefully before using.
  • Free Wi-Fi
    Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the entire property. The WiFi-Password is written behind your hotel room door.
  • Breakfast
    Available from April to September. Available only during weekends and public holidays from October to March. Only on reservation and availability. 
  • Pets and children
    No pets allowed. Please note that the hotel does not accept children under 7 years of age. This is due to licencing.
  • Parking/Bicycle
    We do not have our own parking space. There are plenty of paid parking options near the hotel from the company INDIGO. For bicycles we recommend to park at the designated secured bike parking under the station of Ostend.
  • Non Smoking Hotel
    Smoking is only allowed outside the hotel premises or if you booked a hotel room with a balcony/terrace. Our smoke detectors sets of a silent alarm and will automatically notify the authorities. Smoking inside the hotel or sabotaging the smoke detectors comes with a hefty penalty of no less than €150 up to €950. This will be settled immediately.
  • Visitors/Noise & Others
    In order to ensure a pleasant stay for our guests, we ask to keep the noise to a minimum after 10:00PM.
    Visitors are not allowed after 10:00PM. If we find that there are more people staying/sleeping than the maximum allowed, a fine will be charged of no less than €50 up to €150 per person.

    All fines will be settled immediately by cash or card.

    Staff may enter your room in case of cleaning, an emergency or to inspect the
    room condition.

    Hotel Cardiff is not responsible for the loss or theft of your
    belongings. Hotel Cardiff is entitled to have guests leave the hotel at failure
    to comply with the house rules.
